Chicago XXXVI: Now by Chicago

Chicago XXXVI: Now, sometimes stylized as "NOW" Chicago XXXVI or Now: Chicago XXXVI, is the twenty-fourth studio album, and thirty-sixth overall by Chicago. It was written and recorded in 2013—2014, and was released on July 4, 2014. Aside from the occasional few new tracks found in the band's many compilation and cover albums, Now is the band's next full album of new compositions in the eight years since 2006's Chicago XXX, and it is the next release of original material following 2008's fifteen-year-delayed Chicago XXXII: Stone of Sisyphus. This album has the first original Chicago credits for veteran musicians Walfredo Reyes, Jr. and Lou Pardini, since joining the band. And this is also the last Chicago album to feature bassist/vocalist Jason Scheff, drummer Tris Imboden, and woodwinds player Walter Parazaider. Parazaider, before his retirement from touring due to a heart condition three years later with Ray Herrmann taking his place, Imboden, who later left the band in 2018 to focus more on family time with percussionist Walfredo Reyes, Jr. taking Tris's place as the drummer, and Scheff, who also leaves the band on October 25, 2016 after citing "family health reasons" in May 2016 with Jeff Coffey as his successor.
