The song was released on January 3, 2018 by Dublekick Company and distributed by LOEN Entertainment. The Japanese version of the song was released as a CD single by King Records on June 13, 2018.Written by Shinsadong Tiger and Beom x Nang, "Bboom Bboom" was a sleeper hit that peaked at No. 2 on the Gaon Digital Chart the week of February 25, two months after release. The song was nominated for first place on the music show Inkigayo for 12 weeks straight. As of March 2019, the music video has gained over 330 million views on YouTube. With over 100 million streams, it was the first girl group song to earn a Platinum certification from Gaon Music Chart. Momoland was also awarded Best Dance Performance for the song at the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards.
