King Diamond

Kim Bendix Petersen (born 14 June 1956), better known by his stage name King Diamond, is a Danish heavy metal musician. As a vocalist, he is known for his powerful and extensive vocal range, in particular his far reaching falsetto screams. He is the lead vocalist for both Mercyful Fate and the eponymous King Diamond. Mercyful Fate were part of the first wave of black metal in the early to mid-1980s and many of the band's songs featured lyrics by Diamond about Satanism and the occult. He has also played keyboards and guitar on studio recordings. As a songwriter, Diamond is known for his concept albums and he is noted for his distinctive and charismatic stage persona (including his trademark black and white corpse paint) which was influential on the shock rock movement.
