Đàm Vĩnh Hưng (born 2 October 1971), often referred to by his nickname, Mr. Dam (also spelled Mr. Đàm), is a Vietnamese Pop star. He won 2 Dedication awards and multiple awards in Vietnam. Being one of the highest paid singers in Vietnam, but he's also known for many allegations of inappropriate statement which caused lots of tabloids. He has become very popular in Vietnam beginning with his first career solo Tình Ơi Xin Ngủ Yên. His second album, Bình Minh Sẽ Mang Em Đi which boosted him into the A-list singers in Vietnam receiving much commercial and critical success. Following that, his first official liveshow Trái Tim Hát was held in 2013, directed by the most famous director at that time, Huynh Phuc Dien. However, his career was truly brightened when his 5th album Giọt Nước Mắt Cho Đời was given out, followed by his second liveshow Giờ H. On the other hand, Vol 8 Tình Ca 50 released in 2006 bringing him a lot of troubles from the song of the same name. There was also a rumor about the love affair between Hung and one of the most famous Vietnamese female singer - My Tam at that time when Hung continuously confessed his admiration for Tam.
In early 2007, believing that the number 10 was the perfect number, he closed his franchise albums 1-10 by vol 10-Lac Mat Em Hung and immediately introduced his new franchise called Dạ Khúc Cho Tình Nhân.
He is involved in combating the escalating traffic crisis. He is a goodwill ambassador to Asia Injury Prevention Foundation. In July 2010, he came to Santa Clara, California to perform at a concert.
