Tesla ist eine Hard-Rock-Band aus Sacramento, Kalifornien, USA. Die Band erlebte ihren Aufstieg in der Zeit des sog. Hair Metal der 1980er Jahre, sie sieht ihre Wurzeln allerdings weniger im Glamrock als im Blues-beeinflussten Rock der 1970er Jahre. Zu den Vorbildern zählen daher die Rolling Stones, Aerosmith und Led Zeppelin. Dementsprechend verzichtete Tesla stets auf ausgefallene Bühnenkostüme und Schminke.
