The Jesus and Mary Chain es una banda escocesa de rock alternativo marcada durante el oscuro periodo post-punk y basada en las composiciones de los hermanos Jim y William Reid. Procedentes de East Kilbride, en el sur del país, publicaron una constante cadena de álbumes, sencillos y EP desde su formación en 1984 hasta 1999. Después de un paréntesis, vuelven a la carga en 2007. En la actualidad siguen dando conciertos por toda Europa, con notable éxito de público. Su música se suele incluir en el estilo denominado Shoegaze.
